Origins - Old Terra

Crystalmir was created under Lord Fyodor Crystalmir in the early 1800s as a chemical production and refining enterprise, supplying the vast raw material needs of the Industrial Revolution in Great Britain. The enterprise was family owned, and for generations the Crystalmir Chemicals business grew to become one of the largest chemical companies in the country. It continued to expand, setting up subsidiary companies in the Far East as it pursued research into both natural chemicals and synthetics.

Towards the dawn of the new century, Crystal Chemicals begun aggressive expansion into other territories. It placed larger presence in the Americas and Australasian region, predicting an eventual shift in world power and stability towards those regions. It was partly right, and this foresight helped to improve its commercial strength when the World Wars hit.

It was in the post-war period that Crystal Chemicals acquired Verhauz Pharmaceuticals, a large but failing company based in Germany. Under Crystal Chemical's superior management, Verhauz made a surprising turn around. The companies eventually merged in the 1950s, forming Crystalmir Corporation, with major strengths in chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Crystalmir's success in the 50s led to expansions into construction, mining and other medicine corporations, gradually increasing their investments until takeovers were accomplished.

Although some investments did eventually turn out to be failures, these setbacks were buffered by the healthy financial strength of Crystalmir, as well as the few successful investments coming out as large cash cows. Their dedication towards progress and consistent foresight and adaptability led to its being one of the largest conglomerates at the end of the 20th century, as a global leader in chemicals, pharmaceuticals and other closely related fields (construction, medicine, etc.), as well as an aggressive investor in various cutting edge industries, such as telecommunications and electronics.

Easily one of the biggest multi-billion dollar corporations at the turn of the 21st Century, Crystalmir Corporation placed the foundations for a new facility in St. Germaine, maintaining various regional HQs (New York, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Hong Kong, New Delhi, Sydney and Shanghai). The first of the mega-corporations to shift to St. Germaine, by the end of 2006, Crystalmir had built a massive complex for all its subsidiary corporations, as well as the new center for its R&D facilities.
