Crystalmir Tower [Sample Adventure - in progress]

Nyx seemed to hit a nerve when the stranger heard the word "Resting." The stranger looked angrily at Nyx as blood drips down his nose, "You angry girl? Good." said the stranger coldly as he kicks one of the corporation defense team's corpse in the face. "These bastard don't get a chance to be angry. They're dead. Unlike you and me, we come back when die, these bastard go six feet deep!"

The stranger walks over to Nyx's side, examining her from toe to face when they both heard footsteps echoing from the stairwell and into the room. Several seconds more and they find Scott and Natalie along with her foxes.

"Abso-fucking-lutely great," the stranger muttered, "It took you monkeys twenty minutes to get here."

Deciding the angel probably wasn't going to shoot her again Nyx collected the sword from next to the corpses. Finally something I can stick in demons and make them bleed well Nyx thought, examining her new weapon. Nyx watches in shock as the angel coldly kicks one of the security team corpses in the face. That's one hardened angel right there, too much conflict in the Nexal war I guess. Will I get like that after a while? "That's the problem with war, lots of innocent people die" Nyx said with a sad sigh.

While the angel examines her Nyx decides to ask a question that has been puzzling her team since they arrived in this area. "We heard strange music when we got to this floor, I suppose that has something to do with it" she said while pointing at the stereo on the table. "We heard gunfire too and came to investigate. That's when we were attacked. But why were you playing music during all that? It seems rather strange".

Nyx hears footsteps coming from the stairwell and into the room. Nat and Scott appear, probably thinking she was in danger. Nyx rolled her eyes as the angel complained about how long it took them to get there. "Scott, Nat. This guy also works for the corporation and has been trying to defend this area".

Scott was wary when he saw the room and the angel. He then saw Nyx's bloodied leg. He squinted gravely. "So very nice treating your backup like shit after going through hell to get in here."

Nat hobbled up the stairs after Scott, leaning heavily on the walls and banisters.

once they eventually made it up to the floor Nyx was on, she looked relieved. this quickly turned to anger at the angel's scorn.

"maybe next time we won't bother." she snapped, glaring angrily at him.

she looked away as Nyx spoke, and replied with "he hasn't done a very good job."

"I can't really do anything if you don't bother the next time, but if you little miss," said the stranger to Natalie in a gentle voice pointing his rifle at her, "Don't hold any importance to the lives of these mortals!" he began to shout, "You can immediately leave the premise and take your chances outside with all the demons out there!!!"

The foxes barked angrily at the wounded man showing their fangs.

The stranger dropped his weapon to his side, turning to Nyx. "And if you!" he exclaims, "have any brains in that pale breast of yours, you'd know that demons are a bloodthirsty sort and would go to the first indications of life they encounter. Hence the music. Sad to say it won't work the second time."

The stranger begins to walk out on them, still limping from the severity of his wounds. "In a war, time is crucial. You don't have the luxury to dawdle, if you waste time you waste lives. Not everyone here is immortal." The man pauses and scratches his head not turning to meet their gaze, "The ward is powered up by now and I saw two demons flying away the side of the building, its up to you if you plan to double check the premise, else let the clean-up crew do their job. The forces down the lobby and the defense team on top are probably finishing up as well." He turns his head, "Who's your commanding officer?" he asks.

Scott answered reluctantly, "Guy with grey hair. Met him at the lobby. Don't know his name." He told Nat, "Look into Nyx's wound." To Nyx, "Is the radio still with you? Ask for a report and tell them we've found the defense team, or what's left of it..."

In all seriousness, he stretches out his hand. "Give me the rifle. I'll tend to your wounds."

Nat stared at the man as he aimed at her and ranted.

"the mortals I care about. you, I wouldn't spit on if you were on fire. we can test that if you want, just point your little pop gun at me again." she said angrily, apparently happy to use this man to vent her frustration at humanity in general.

at Scott's command, she reluctantly turns away from the man and walks over to Nyx.

"do you want me to bandage you up, or would you rather one of the professionals did it?"

The stranger laughs heartily at the Natalie's comment and gives a wicked smile if it was at all possible for someone celestial.

"Wrong!" he said looking at Scott then turning his gaze at the rest of the agents. "Starting tomorrow, I'M going to be your commanding officer."

He walks away and heads for the stairwell, "It'll be fun," he chuckled, "we're going to take all the missions nobody wants to take."
